Iberic settlement

La Vall de Laguar was also inhabited by the Iberos, an ancient settlement was to be found at the top of the mountain. Also ruins of castles and forts are found high in strategic points.

There are many caves dating back to Neolithic times and 'snow holes', these were huge excavated holes in the earth or stone, used for hundreds of years to store snow in the winter (which in those times was far colder and wetter). This was then used in the summer to preserve food and for medical uses, it even was said to be transported to Algeria.
