The climate is one of the greatest merits of this part of Spain. There are on average over 300 days a year of sunshine, with scarce rainfall and an average temperature of 10°C to 25°C during the winter, depending on the orientation and altitude.

The mountain air is one of the healthiest for a number of ailments, including asthma and rheumatism, it is far drier than coastal areas which in the lower part of La Marina suffer very high humidity.

Due to the altitude there can be cold weather, snow used to be seen every year, but now it is very rare.
